Lost in Lima
May 23, 2007 on 3:43 am | In Allgemein | No CommentsArriving in Lima last night I was pretty stoked having this feeling of not knowing what´s going on and of being lost. Haven´t had that since being in Southeastasia. Ok, I admit I was a bit afraid of getting cheated, robbed or kidnapped. But that´s just what I like sometimes, putting yourself in situations of which u do not know how they´ll turn out. Eventually it was pretty usual though.
The flight up here was pretty bad. I never experienced that heavy and continueos tubulences in a plane before. I saw people around me starting to pray with quite a fear in their eyes. No good feeling, u are just so helpless!
Since we talked about Peru and Lima in 8th Grade, based on an book from the ´70s and with a weird teacher I was curious about this “3. World, over-crowded and dangerous City”. After I move myself away from this Computer, I´ll see…
I wanna leave this 6 million City soon though to rush to Cusco, Machu Picchu is waiting for me how Geisa said. It looks like it was quite a mission to get there.
In 2 weeks I wanna meet my Casa Po Friends in San Pedro de Atacama (Chile), so I have to move continuesly via Machu Picchu, Titicaca lake, La Paz and hopefully Salar de Uyuni. Miss those guys already!
Temblor
May 11, 2007 on 7:11 am | In Allgemein | 3 CommentsWow. How exciting!
today while i was sitting in my spanish classes I experienced the first little earthquake of my life. In the first moment it was like: “¿Puta, que pasa?”, but then I was just stoked. It´s a really weird feeling and you share it with everybody around you. Supposingly there where 200 of those in on week before the big one including a Tsunami, which happend in the south a few weeks ago. The terrestrial plates seem to like snuggleing against each other at the moment. Little temblors are fun, but please no large earthquakes mi dio!
tomorrow I´ll have my last spanish class which kept me really busy the last 2 weeks. 9 to 4… Still I can´t really handle all the new stuff I learned in this short time. For germans english is much easier to learn than spanish…So I´m planing to stay another week to study this language more, on my own, and to think about and plan what to do next. I think I´ll move further north and try to hit Machu Picchu in Peru. Sounds like an amazing experience…
My brother who was planning to come down here for some weeks unfortunatly won´t join in. It´s just too damn expensive to fly down here just for a “brief” visit. Pityful!
Down there u see what happens way to often in “Casa Po”. A spontaneous party with plenty of red wine.
If u wanna see some pics of my travel feel invite to check the new Flickr link to the right.

Bienvenido a Santiago
May 4, 2007 on 4:27 am | In Allgemein | No CommentsHola Amigos!
Santiago welcomed me and I welcome Santiago very much. The City itself is not that pretty and it´s really getting cold here.
The house I stay in is gold, though. It´s all cool people, mainly girls, from all over the planet. Moreover I really love the culture of Latin Americ! Baila, Vino y Cerveza, Empanadas, los bars y las chicas son buenissimo!
My spanish classes started on monday. I´m struggeling so mucho. Damn, it´s hard to start a totally new language. I got so used to english so right now I`m just confused dealing with 3 languages. I reckon it might take me another week or so to get into espanol.
I went to the new Skatepark of Santiago yesterday which is, like the metro and pretty much every public transport, packed at all times. Plenty of (good) Skaters here! I kinda suck though, after a few weeks no respectively rarely skating I feel a bit foolish. But that´s alright sometimes. With my blonde hair people are stairing and giggling at me anyways.
