Rain in New Zealand

Alrighty. Since I’m here I experienced probably more rain than in the whole time in Australia. Moreover it’s freaking cold and reminds me of the german autum. That kinda sucks. Especially ’cause I’ve neither jacket nor sweatshirt, the warmest clothes is my lovely robotron jumper and a pair of long socks.

After an quite amazing dive ayt poor knights islands I travelled around the very north with 2 Israeliens who are so kind to have me around. Thx! Yesterday we saw the Cape Reinga where the Tasmanian Sea joins the Pacific Ocean. Whooha. And we boarded down steep high sand banks. fun as!

Now, back in Auckland we’re waiting to go on the piss tonight. we got an invitation of skater kieran, who I met on the bus to whangarei. Flatwarming party, yes!

Auckland welcomes Barney

Good day!

I just arrived in new zealands northern metropole auckland and checked in a backpackers.

the fuckin airport securities send me to the customs, searched all my stuff for drugs and asked me stupid questions for ages. that was fuckin ridiculous and anoying! it took about 45 min and was not nice at all. that’s the price for having long, untidy hair I suppose…

but expect that, everythings fine. I’m happy to have a change and to be on the road again, not being bothered about skating and getting footage. as much as i love it, I learned that there’s a point where it can be too much of it.

finja is busy earning some money on the southern island, so I probably won’t see her before the 17th. until then i might go for a scuba dive not far from here, one of the world top dive sites, and to taupo national park to swin in some thermal pools and possibly to go sky diving. whoho!

when i was in sydney i met a guy with a sticker of stefan marx’s houses. he told me there was an exhibition just the day before.fuck taht, i would have loved to go to one of his shows on the other side of the world and meet him. his flat was the last i bummed in before i left germany.

yesterday i didn’t go skating because it rained all day here in shitney. i wasn’t really sad about that though. after those three weeks of excessive skating i feel quite sore and exhausted. instead i wandered around with casey, visited the national museum and a skateboard exhibition which was very good. it showed a totally new technique for skateboard designs. very detailed ingraves made by laser. check www.refillseven.com for details. the graphics and new possibilities are pretty fuckin amazing. one deck was 500 bucks, but i reckon this technique will make it’s way to commercialization quickly so u can find it in skateshops. i hope so…

Today it’s time to leave wonderful oz. it’s not only a change of the countryside but will also be a change of lifestyle for me. here in australia i quite much got in that “no worries…” mood. So now I might plan and organize myself a bit more than in the last few months…i’ll be on my own again. Although i’ll miss the many good times i shared with all u guys here in oz (u know who u are) I’m kind of looking forward to leave it behind and see and experiences smth. new.

I’m just sitting in the Library at Oxford St. in Sydney.
Marc and Michael left Caseys joint, where I’ll stay untill my flight to Auckland is going tomorrow afternoon, in the very early morning.
